
Goalkeeping DIrector – Coaching GiRLs ACademy 1 – U14
Danielle Mendez serves as the Goalkeeping Director at Salvo Soccer Club, bringing more than a decade of experience developing goalkeepers and athletes across the youth, collegiate, and national identification levels. Widely regarded as one of the top goalkeeper coaches in the Midwest, Mendez has built a reputation for creating high-performance training environments that challenge goalkeepers technically, tactically, and mentally.
Since joining Salvo in 2020, Mendez has overseen the club’s goalkeeping program, developing a comprehensive goalkeeper curriculum and providing education and support for coaches across all age groups. Under her leadership, Salvo goalkeepers have advanced to compete at the collegiate, semi-professional, and professional levels, including programs within the ACC, Summit League, and NSIC. She also serves as a Girls Academy Head Coach, helping guide player development within Salvo’s national platform.
In addition to her club responsibilities, Mendez has coached at multiple collegiate levels, including the University of St. Thomas, Concordia University–St. Paul, St. Olaf College, the University of Montana, and the University of North Dakota. Throughout her career, she has specialized in goalkeeper development, recruiting, program management, video analysis, and athlete mentorship while helping teams compete for conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.
Mendez holds a Master’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Minnesota and possesses a USSF C License and Goalkeeper Level 1 License. She has also served as a Girls Academy National Talent ID Head Coach, Girls Academy Conference Talent ID Coach, and Minnesota ODP Coach, further demonstrating her commitment to identifying and developing elite players.
