Coach – BOYS ACademy 2 (U11 & U15)
Carrlin Meier enters his next chapter in soccer leadership after serving as Director of Coaching for the Central Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (CMYSA), where he oversaw player development, coach education, curriculum design, and club operations for more than 1,000 players across Central Minnesota.
In his time as the Director of Coaching (2023-2026), Meier expanded competitive programming, implemented a club-wide player development curriculum, and introduced year-round training opportunities. During his tenure, CMYSA increased participation at younger ages, launched new camp and open-play initiatives, and established a more structured developmental pathway from recreational soccer through travel and academy programming.
In addition to his youth soccer leadership responsibilities, Meier served as Assistant Coach for the St. John’s University Men’s Soccer program. His collegiate coaching experience also includes a year with Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Division II Women’s program.
On the pre-professional side, Meier has helped guide Granite City FC through one of the most dramatic turnarounds in the UPSL Premier Division. After finishing at the bottom of the table in 2025 Granite City FC finished second in the conference with 21 points, establishing itself as one of the top-performing clubs in the region.
He has also worked with Minnesota United for 3 years as a pre-academy coach, and in the academy environment.
Prior to his recent leadership roles, Meier spent nearly a decade coaching within Mankato United Soccer Club ending as Assistant Director of Coaching. During that time, he held multiple high school head coaching positions, including Head Girls Soccer Coach at Mankato West High School and Head Soccer Coach at Loyola Catholic School. These experiences helped shape his player-centered coaching philosophy and passion for long-term athlete development.
Meier holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration and Community Management from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Gustavus Adolphus College, where he finished his playing career.
He currently holds a USSF B License.
