Stephen Peterson brings more than 19 years of coaching, leadership, and operational experience across youth and collegiate soccer to his role of Director of Athletics and Operations at Salvo Soccer Club. As a Girls Academy Head Coach since 2025, he helps lead one of the region’s premier player development environments, mentoring athletes as they pursue collegiate opportunities and high-level competitive pathways.

In addition to his club responsibilities, Peterson is entering his nineteenth season with the women’s soccer program at University of Wisconsin–River Falls, where he joined the coaching staff in August 2008. He currently serves as Associate Head Coach, a role he assumed in 2025, contributing to all aspects of program development, recruiting, player mentorship, and competitive success.

Throughout his career, Peterson has held several leadership positions within the youth soccer landscape, including Director of Soccer Operations at Bloomington United Soccer Club and U9–U12 Girls Director at Woodbury Soccer Club. His extensive experience spans coaching, administration, player development, and organizational leadership.

Peterson holds a U.S. Soccer D License and has earned multiple advanced coaching certifications, including the United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma, Goalkeeping Level III Diploma, U.S. Soccer Technical Certificate, and the U.S. Soccer National Youth License. His coaching philosophy centers on long-term player development, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping athletes achieve their highest potential both on and off the field.
